Logitech Touchpad Keyboard
Acer Aspire: Broken Keyboard & TouchPad?
When I turned on my Acer Aspire 6920, this page came up with a black background and white words. I used the ENTER key on the keyboard to select START WINDOWS NORMALLY.
When I got to the login page, I tried using my mouse pad to click on my user. It didn’t work! So I had to get the mouse from my computer, and it worked (USB Logitech Mouse).
I went on Control Panel > Mouse to see what was wrong with the mouse. It said that the Synaptic (spell check) Mouse Pad was either CORRUPTED OR MISSING A FILE, and therefore it didn’t work.
I tried googling the issue, but the keyboard didn’t work as well! I went on Control Panel > Keyboard and saw that the keyboard was CORRUPTED OR MISSING A FILE as well! All the keys don’t work! And I tried using Notepad, Microsoft Word, etc. to see if it worked as well.
Before I used the laptop, my dad did. And I don’t know *** he did! D:

Try plugging in an external keyboard. If that works, it’s probably hardware, but try the following anyway, because it’s easy.
Try uninstalling (deleting) the keyboard and internal mouse in Device Manager and rebooting. Give the computer plenty of time to boot up and ‘find’ the ‘new’ hardware. (Don’t start pushing buttons before it’s fully booted.)
If none of that works, it’s probably hardware. Open up the computer and unplug the keyboard (and touchpad) from the motherboard and then plug it back in … Carefully, but firmly.
Be sure you consult the manual or Acer’s website before opening up your laptop and be very careful with all the tiny screws. A link to the manual is below. If you’re not comfortable doing surgery on your laptop, get help! Laptops can be tricky to get open without damaging them.
if none of this works, blame your dad and make him get it fixed!
